UNSCAM

It has been quite a few months since the first details of the scandal of the UN Oil-for-Food Program first came to light. In this time, Paul Volcker has been appointed to investigate, and a Congressional committee has requested some documents. But nothing else has happened. The very people who were so "outraged" by the Enron scandal, have been silent regarding this scandal which in terms of dollars was ten times worse than Enron, and in terms of human damage was immeasurably worse. Even the appointment of Volcker seems to be nothing more than part of the cover-up, since he has no power to either subpoena documents nor compel testimony under oath. William Safire has been writing about this scandal and has another column today - Tear Down This U.N. Stonewall. This of course is the same organization that Kerry and Co. claim can bring legitimacy to Iraq.
