France and Terrorism

While France has clearly been trying to obstruct US policy in Iraq, they have ostensibly been cooperating with the US on counter-terrorism. The issue is that their definition of terrorism is not quite the same as ours. For France, Hizbullah and Hamas are not terrorist organizations, but social welfare organizations. This, despite the leader of Hizbullah stating “Death to America was, is and will stay our slogan.” The American Thinker describes a recent interview with Jean Francois Cope, Spokesman of the French Government and Vice Interior Minister, and Jean David Levitte, French Ambassador to the US.
