Polls

RealClearPolitics.com has a good analysis of the recent polls. Judging by these polls, President Bush is in pretty good shape for reelection (the usual caveat is that there is still more than 4 months to the election, and a lot can happen). For virtually all of June Bush has been leading in every poll with the exception of the Wash.Post/ABC News poll. In most of these polls his lead is between 2 and 4 points, although two of the most recent polls (Harris and Fox News) have shown Bush leading by 10 and 7 points respectively. What is even more interesting is the percentage of people who view Kerry unfavorably, a larger number than view Bush that way. Additionally, while 73% of those intending to vote for Bush say their vote is "for" him rather than "against" Kerry, 59% of Kerry supporters are voting "against" Bush as opposed to "for" Kerry. Kerry just has not been able to gain any traction whatsoever. With the economy continuing its rapid expansion, and despite (or maybe because of) the attacks in Iraq, Bush's support continues to increase.
