After all the pressure applied to them in the past couple of weeks, Syria has announced that it will withdraw its 14,000 troops from Lebanon in the next few months. More important will be to see if it also withdraws the equal number of intelligence agents operating in Lebanon.
Undoubtedly we will now hear from the left, which has completely ignored this occupation, that now that it is over the only occupation left in the Middle East is of the West Bank and Gaza, and that Israel must withdraw immediately.
